Hellebores

Another weekly drawing challenge from Wet Canvas, the lovely Hellebores flower. I was surprised to find these actually existed. A book by Tad Williams, War of the Flowers had a family named after them. Long story....excellent book :)

A favorite so far

I'm really pleased with the way this one turned out. It is a study of a sketch done by Michelangelo, a very handsome woman I would say. I finally used my moleskin sketchbook, hence the cream color instead of white. I seem to lose a lot of detail from scanning the image.

Here Fishie, Fishie, Fishie

I'm still uploading new sketches - some good, some needed love hehe. And I need practice...practice, practice, practice! It's supposed to be a miserable weekend here, weather-wise and other things, so hopefully I will get to spend some time convincing my pencils to put the lines where I want them.

And another...

I'm stringing these out, trying to make it look like I have been really productive. This is my least favorite of the bunch. I had a hard time getting the light reflected thru the glass, and ellipses...egads! Between the ellipses on the glass and the odd angle of the spoon, I almost pulled my hair out on this one! It looks better in the thumbnail than up close and personal!

Starting Somewhere

I finally got around to scanning some sketches. They are from weekly challenges on Wet Canvas in the Drawing and Sketching forum. This little barn was quite fun for me.

My last post was in 2008??!? Where has the time gone? Three years...just *poof*

I have been painting and drawing more, and knitting a bit as well. I've felt the need to blow the dust off of my pencils mostly. I've been dabbling in watercolor...the stuff still intimidates me! No "do-over" lol. Here is an ACEO, just to show that I have accomplished something :)

Second Death Completed

I finished the 2nd hat for Hat Attack II. I love the colors of this one! I hope Miss Ornerie loves her fall colored warm and fuzzy end. Darth Tater does look a bit shocked by his own.

Death is delivered via USPS

My Hat Attack II hat went out in the mail today! My target's imminent demise is on it's way...a warm fuzzy demise. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out. I'm glad I am getting a hat too! I wonder when it is going to arrive...my assassin has been very quiet about my impending death. I hope my target likes it, and on to the next one! *i can't believe i'm still alive!!*

Fall is in the air

I can feel it getting closer every day! The mornings are brisk, and the leaves are beginning to turn. I don't know if I'm ready for it, like that matters. I appreciate not having to run the air conditioner! It has been a cool summer overall, only getting really hot for a few weeks. Keep telling me about global warming *rolls eyes*.

It gets me in the mood for knitting big fuzzy sweaters! I have one on my to-do list, just have to finish my other sock, my Hat Attack hat (deadline to sign up is Sept 8), some arm/wrist warmers...and on and on and on. Good thing I like hanging out at home! I'm trying to figure out when I became a homebody...must have been recently. I can spend the whole weekend without feeling the need to go anywhere, and I love it :)

New Sock

Yep, just one *heehee*. I finally finished a cable sock, and I'll be starting a new one tonite. I'm going to try a new method, Magic Loop knitting. It is supposed to work with small circumferences without having to use dpns. It will be interesting! The sock looks really odd. It is a nice dense knit, but with my feet, it appears to be really long and skinny.

OH! One of my eggs hatched too :)
