Wayward Plans

Well, I didn't get any drawing or painting done over the weekend. Instead I spent some quality time in my long-neglected gardens. I weeded, cut, pulled and raked until every spot of my body ached. Then I got a wild hair, dug a whole, and proceeded to fill it with a tree. I got an Autumn Blaze maple, one that will hopefully give me the wonderful fall colors I adore. Of course, it may take a while...the ropes used to stake him are thicker than the trunk! I look forward to watching him grow. I've never planted a tree, so it is a growing experience for me too :)

But just to show I haven't completely abandoned my creative side, here are some beads I made a few weeks ago. I call them "Blue Girl's Garden" because the roses remind me of my Blue Girl rose. She didn't bloom this summer, but she is still growing strong!

Oh...I did work on my polar bear a little bit last night, still have a looooooong way to go!

Beautiful work! Those are some of my favorite roses and you captured them in glass- nice work!

Thank you so much Jessica! I love Blue Girls, and had to search long and hard to find one. I'm glad I did them justice.

Lynn, these are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It's a little hard to tell size by the pic so how big would these actually be? You must be very pleased with them.

Thank you Serena! The small ones are about an inch, the longer one is an inch and a half. And yes, I love them :)
