Spring has sprung! Kind of....
We were spoiled by an amazingly warm March, only to be thrown into a cooler than normal April. I'm ready for warm, rainy days...mosquito free hehehe

Yup, Winter...
Happy New Year in the frigid north! It's -5 degrees outside...that is just wrong on so many levels. Makes me wonder why the hell I'm still here...

Winter is coming
The night is supposed to bring 4-8 inches of snow. Not a lot in the greater scheme of things, but it seems like a ton. I'm feeling buried under the weight, and trapped. I've been stuck in limbo, not sure which direction to head, or even how to get there. It was a long, strange summer and fall...maybe the blanket of snow will refresh my life like it does when the world becomes white - a blank new canvas.

The Look in My Eye
I was very happy with how this turned out! Not quite the point of realism I am trying to achieve, but definitely a step in the right direction. Practice, practice, practice. One thing I have realized is a lot of the sketches appear larger on my monitor than they actually are. I've been using a 5x7 sketch book, and very few of these take the whole page. This one is about 2x3.

Hellebores
Another weekly drawing challenge from Wet Canvas, the lovely Hellebores flower. I was surprised to find these actually existed. A book by Tad Williams, War of the Flowers had a family named after them. Long story....excellent book :)

And another...
I'm stringing these out, trying to make it look like I have been really productive. This is my least favorite of the bunch. I had a hard time getting the light reflected thru the glass, and ellipses...egads! Between the ellipses on the glass and the odd angle of the spoon, I almost pulled my hair out on this one! It looks better in the thumbnail than up close and personal!
